Located on Highway 304 and spanning 702,000 Sq.m., the Khao Hinsorn Plant serves as VPE’s primary manufacturing hub. The site houses fully integrated facilities, including material storage, component preparation, fabrication and welding shops, painting workshops, and expansive areas for trial assembly and packing.

Each facility is equipped with modern machinery and advanced tools. By integrating cutting-edge technology into process control, we ensure the highest levels of quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Cutting

The cutting process is a critical first step in steel
structure fabrication, preparing components
for forming, assembly, and welding. At VPE,
we utilize CNC machinery across a wide range
of cutting methods including sawing, machining,
laser cutting, plasma cutting, and flame cutting.
Each method is selected based on key
factors such as steel type, required precision,
and the overall production workflow,
ensuring optimal efficiency and
accuracy from the start.

Drilling

For steel fabrication, VPE utilizes several types
of drilling machines , include multi-axial and
multi-spindle CNC drilling machines, radial
drilling machines, portable drilling machines,
etc., to drill parts or components of workpieces,
each offering unique capabilities for
different fabrication needs.

Rolling, Bending and Folding

Rolling, bending and folding of structural steel
can be done in a number of ways, most commonly
using machinery such as pipe benders,
beam benders, press brakes and roll forming
machines. These processes allow parts
to be formed into the desired curves,
angles or bends for structural
steel fabrication.

Assembly

The assembly process that VPE uses in
the steel fabrication is to assemble multiple parts
together to achieve the specified shapes and
dimensions according to design & fabrication
drawings for each type of workpiece, such as
casing panel, stack, duct, steel structure,
pressure piping, etc.

◼︎ Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) for common structural
     steel welding
◼︎ Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW or TIG) for pipe or
     piping component fabrication
◼︎ Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) for welding of plate work
     such as casing panel, stack shell, built up beam, etc.
◼︎ Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW or Stick Welding)
     for pipe or piping component fabrication
     and some types of structural steel welding
◼︎ Laser Beam Welding (LBW) for welding of high
     precision steel components
◼︎ Draw Arc Stud Welding (SW) for welding of
     insulation pin, stud and permanently fastened
     to a metal work piece.

Built-up Beam

Built up beam fabrication is the process used
for making a beam from steel plates that are
designed with specific thickness, dimensions
and length by using beam assembly machine,
SAW welding machine and beam straightening
machine, flange straightening machine,
(for reducing deformation after welding).

Trial Assembly

Trial assembly of steel structures is a critical process in VPE’s production
workflow. It involves assembling steel components under controlled conditions
to ensure they conform precisely to the design drawings and structural
specifications. Each step is closely monitored and inspected to verify
that the assembled parts fit together correctly and meet all required
standards.

This process serves as a full-scale validation that, once delivered to
the client, the steel components can be installed seamlessly at
the final site without alignment or fitting issues. It minimizes
installation errors and ensures confidence in quality before
components leave the factory.

To enhance precision, VPE incorporates 3D scanning technology
into the trial assembly process. This advanced tool digitally
verifies the fit and alignment of structural parts, detects
potential mismatches, and significantly improves overall
efficiency. Virtual trial assembly using 3D scans allows
for early detection of problems, reducing the need
for costly and time-consuming physical trial assemblies.

$Refractory Anchor Installation$

Refractory Anchor Installation

Refractory anchor installation is the process to
attach anchors (VEE or WYE), threaded studs
or pins on the internal surfaces of the furnace
or high-temperature equipment. Refractory
anchor installation can be done by using manual
welding processes such as FCAW or SMAW and
stud welding techniques. The common type
of materials used for refractory anchors are
stainless steels, carbon steel or special alloys.

Surface Preparation
and Protective Coating

Surface preparation and protective coating are crucial processes
for preventing corrosion and extending the lifespan of
fabricated steel structures especially in severe environments.
VPE has very large indoor blasting rooms and painting
facilities that can create controlled environments for surface
preparation and painting. The surface profile measurement,
coating thickness check and other inspection
processes ensure the coating quality and long service
life of fabricated steel parts.

VPE employs certified coating inspectors
accredited by AMPP, along with qualified coating
applicators who have received professional
certification.

Refractory Installation

Refractory installation involves the application
of heat-resistant materials to protect the internal
components of fired heaters, industrial furnaces,
boilers and other high-temperature equipment.
Common types of refractory installations that
can be done by VPE include castables
(by casting and gunning techniques),
Ceramic Fiber Blanket and
Ceramic Fiber Module

Convection Modularization

convection modules that involves the assembly
of casing panels, tubesheets, tube supports,

Packing

VPE offers a variety of product packing methods
tailored to the shape, size, safety, and protection
requirements of each item. All packing processes
adhere to international standards and include
options such as steel frame packing, wooden
strapping, wooden crating, base frame installation,
and shrink-wrapping to ensure optimal
protection during transport and handling.
